This is an oil painting produced by my sister-in-law, Margaret Richmond Please find attached a photograph of the artist, Margaret Richmond,
toasting Lord Nelson in my bar, and image detail. I had been over in England, from Brisbane, Australia, in September of last year for an air force reunion and was staying at my brothers place in Hunstanton. We had been out and about and my brother suggested we have a pint at the "Lord Nelson". I was rather taken by the image of Lord Nelson, and on my return asked Maggie if she would do me an oil painting to hang in my bar. She reproduced it from an image after Lemuel Abbott (1797) out of an old HMS Victory guide book.
I think it came out very well, it now has pride of place in the bar. We will be celebrating the bicentenial of the battle of Trafalgar in October and Lord Nelsons image will take pride of place. Best Regards, Tony Dewey. |
