Welcome to The Lord Nelson at Burnham Thorpe
Our pub was built in 1637 as an Ale House in the beautiful Norfolk village of Burnham Thorpe. The pub is located opposite the village cricket ground and bowling green. Burnham Thorpe is famous as the birth place of Britain’s greatest naval hero – Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, who, as the name of the pub suggests, frequented the Ale House.
Today you can soak up the atmosphere that has changed little over the past 370 years. We don’t have a bar but serve our drinks from a tap room and have a range of real ales served straight from the cask. We also have a very large garden with children’s play area. The garden has already had some busy spring days and with a great beer or glass of wine you can relax in the sunshine.
We will be celebrating Trafalgar on Saturday 18th October 2014, the menu is on our events page.
We would also recommend you try our Nelson’s Blood or Lady Hamilton’s Nip a unique recipe of blended Rum and Mixed Spices. Only made and produced here in Burnham Thorpe.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Lord Nelson very soon.
